It was perfect - Part 1

"I'm sorry, the only one who had blond curls like those before you came around was James, and usually he takes this path as well."

I shrugged and said

"Just please do not restart that ever again. I was feeling like I almost fell apart."

She giggled.

We spent the next ten minutes or so talking about the city, the school, people in there, etc.

Then we got to the school.

"Well, it was nice talking to you! I'm Leia, from class 2-B! I hope we can see each other again!"

And she ran off.

***

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNG

End of the first day of school. It was rather nice.

I pack my things and get out of the classroom. As I step outside I hear Leia's voice.

"Zander! ZANDER!!"

What? I don't remember telling her neither my name nor my class? ...Oh well, I probably did and forgot about it.

"I thought you might get lost again, want me to come with you?"

"No, it's fine, if I get lost again I'll...uh, ask around!"

She laughs. She looks so innocent...

"Come on, tell me where you live so you can get back before your parents start worrying."

"A-actually, I live alone."

"Even more of a reason to be able to take care of yourself!"

And she dragged me by my arm.

"Tell me where you live, now!"

***

"Um...Leia, how did you know my name and which class I was in?"

"Eh? I didn't know you were in that class, I just happened to be there at that time."

"But what about my na-"

"Oh look! The new bakery finally opened! Come on, let's go take a look, Zander!"

And she dragged me inside.

"Woaaaah~! It smells so good! Doesn't it, Zander? Uwaaa! Those look so tasty!"

Really like a little kid. Without worries, without hate. Looking at her look at the pastries while making that cute face, I feel like all my fears of "living alone now", "moved to a new place", "new school" vanished. Maybe it'll just last a few minutes, but her innocence makes me think that there's nothing to worry about in such a place...

I wonder if that girl has a boyfriend.

It was perfect - prologue

Flowers. More flowers. Endless fields. So beautiful...I don't want to leave yet...

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

Ugh... Sometimes I just want to break this alarm clock into pieces and make a fire with it. Geez.

I turn it off and smash it on the ground. I don't want to get up. I think I'll just call in sick.

I shrug and chase that thought away. What am I talking about, it's the beginning of a new school year, at a new school! Nothing to do with that joke of a school where I was last year!

I jump out of my bed and...run right into a box. Ouch. I totally forgot about those. I just moved last week, and since I'm living alone now, I didn't see the need to unpack so quickly.

I got dressed, grabbed myself something to eat and left. This school has an uniform. And a private-school type. I feel proud wearing it.

I've been walking for a few minutes until I realized... I have no idea how to get there. I guess I'll just have to ask around...

"James! JAMES!!" a girl's voice called out. As I turn around to look, someone pushes me so hard that I nearly fell over.

"Ja~mes, that'll teach you for doing it to me everytime!"

James? Who's that? And why did she push me and not her "James"?

I look behind me. We're from the same school. Another reason I love uniforms.

"Um...excuse me" I started.

She looks at me and nearly jumped out of her skin.

Selfless devotion: forever united

He never noticed her.
She never talked to him.

He liked to play sports.
She liked to watch him play.

He was laughing.
She was smiling.

He didn't know.
She didn't know.

He collapsed.
She screamed.

He was in the hospital.
She followed.

He was ill.
She was worried.

He needed help.
She had a beating heart.

He was unconscious.
She was crying.

He was suffering.
She wanted to help.

He was dying.
She was bleeding.

He was saved.
She was dead.

He was alive.
She was smiling.

He believed in a miracle.
She wrote him a note.

He was crying.
She had a beating heart.

He was forever united with her.
She was forever united with him.

...

"THIS ONE IS PROBABLY NOT AS GOOD AS YOUR OWN, BUT PLEASE,

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU LIKE, I LIKE SEEING YOU SMILE.

YOUR SMILE WILL FOREVER BE HERE TO WARM UP MY HEART
"

...

He needed a heart transplant.

They couldn't do it right now.

He needed to be saved as fast as possible.
She offered her heart.

They refused.

They said they will not take it from a living person.

He didn't have much longer left.
She nervously grabbed the closest sharp object.

He knew nothing of it.
She whispered her last words, "can you now?"

Logic, deduction and memories.

It keeps coming back.
Logic and psychology makes one nearly see the future.
She's not psychic. She's no magician.

Memories sometimes come in two parts.
First part might be painful.
Second is expected to be worse.

But never try to stop it from happening.

You won't stop it from happening.
You'll only feel guilty.

It probably won't be as bad as you think.

Memories are parted as pain and pleasure.

Look for one, the other will come to you.
